RVA Capitol Square

So trying to go out and shot in Richmond every Wednesday and since it is winter that means night shoots. Well after last week's attack on the Capitol and midst all the new potential terror threats I really wanted to capture the Capitol Square in RVA before anything may go down, the calm before the storm if you will.

So a friend and I headed over there that night and walked around getting some shots in and around the Square complex. When I say the Police presence was thick I mean it was a serious wall to wall Police. We were stopped a talked to many times throughout the night. The conversations were pleasant but you could tell that they were concerned and curious about what we're doing taking photos. Rightfully so indeed. The questions were probing conversationally and when they were satisfied that we were not a threat they went about their beat around the Square.

Luckily our encounters were pleasant and calm. I can't help to think about each one we spoke with that and wonder what their coming days have in store for them. To all the gentlemen we spoke with and to all of you who plan to be in Richmond this coming week, please stay safe and be aware of your surroundings.
